Mo Mowlam is the former Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and she was one of the primary negotiators behind the peace process in Northern Ireland and she contributed so much to the Good Friday Agreement. While she was spending almost every waking moment working with all sides of the political divide she was going through treatment for a brain tumour. I have such tremendous respect for this woman and for what she sacrificed for the good of the people of Ireland and I love her sense of humour. It emerged in the press yesterday that :hugon Mo :hugoff has been in the hospital for the last few weeks - she is in a coma -she has now been moved to a hospice and she is dying - even though I have never met her - she is one of the people that I admire the most in this world -she is such a strong woman - she has such a strong spirit - we in Ireland will definitely feel her passing.
Please pray for her - that she is not in pain - that she passes easily- she is only a young woman - today I realised that she is only a year older than my mother. Her spirit is so strong - she will never be forgotten................

I just heard on the ten o'clock news that Ms Mowlam is getting worse. I second your thoughts siobhan and also have so much respect for her. She powered through using her mind and spirit and brought great results because of it. I hope she is at peace.

I never thought that I would feel like this about a politician - but she is special - she had the ability to cut through all of the walls that people put up and just get in there on their level - she has a wicked sense of humour - she is so loved :lubdub and respected and I will miss her being in this world with us.
If you guys pray - will you please pray that she isn't in any pain
Love Siobhan

She's a very cool lady. I hope she knows how much people respect and value her. Most of all, I hope she isn't in pain and she has people she loves around her.

I never heard of her. But she sounds like a great lady. Of course I will pray that her passing is easy and as pain-free as possible.

Mo has passed - my heart goes out to her husband John - I feel really, really sad - she will never be forgotten - she was one of the bravest women, she was a lovely lady - we will all miss her. I admired this lady so, so much. There is another beautiful, beautiful angel in heaven. :angel
May she rest in peace

I was so surprised to hear this bad news. I am American and I knew about her. I heard her a lot on NPR and she always sounded so strong and dedicated. I admired her. It's sad to loose someone who has so much to give.

Mo mowlam was everything a politiican should be- she helped negotiate a peace settlement in northern ireland while recovering from treatment from a brain tumour- that in itself say a lot about her character and strength as a person.
I think she was possibly the only english politician to treat both sinn fein and the unionists the same- which i think was a big risk for her- she even earned the respect from the hardline republicans and loyalists after entering the maze prison to talk to them about starting the peace talks- something not every politician would even consider not mention put into practsie.
I hope the history books remember her, as she is defintiely worth remembering.

I feel really sad that Mo has died - but I was thinking today that I'll bet that she is up there now still working on the peace process that is on-going, that woman just did not quit..........

Who would have thought a politician could have touched so many hearts.
