Just in case....this may be triggering.

Is it normal....when I take care of myself, eat good food...etc to feel like a traitor? I feel like I am betraying someone when I am "ok". What is that about? Why cant I just enjoy life without all this obsession. Even when I truly work at being better there is still this voice in the back of my mind calling me a traitor. Am I nuts or is this normal?

Normal for most people? No.
Common for people with eating disorders? Very.

:sfishy has a good info page about this: Negative Voices (http://www.something-fishy.org/isf/negativevoices.php)

man i totally know what you mean, the guilt in being healthy... i think of it as the bulimia telling me to feel bad and ugly and fat. dont listen to the thoughts that tell you to feel bad for treating your body kindly those are the eating disorder voices. and as you heal and defeat them they will become more quiet and you will begin to hear your voice again.

You are not crazy and you are experiencing a very common symptom of EDs.

You have to remember that the only thing you are betraying is the ED-and the ED is nasty and terrible and doesn't want the best for you. So think of it like this-who cares about mr. ED-you deserve to live without him and he doesn not desrve to live inside you.

Remember that by taking care of yourself not only are you making yourself happy but you are making God and those who love and care about you happy as well. :happy

Good Luck and God Bless! :gimmehug
