Hi there!
I am new to this site, and so I haven't posted much, but your message kind of jumped out at me, because I can totally relate to the whole bathing suit nightmare, it can cause such anxiety! When I am faced with those situations I just try to relax and remember that my friends love me for the inner me, and not what my bum looks like! (that's what I try to do anyway, although it doesn't ALWAYS work, it at least reminds me that I'm lovable because of who I am - which is definately NOT perfect!)

You haven't been around for a while. I hope you haven't spent all this time sitting at home stressing over this "pool party" :sarcasm!!

....pt now putting on her serious face....

Are you "really" fat or do you just think you are. If you are a size you aren't comfortable with, you know, there are swimming suits out now that can camoflage ..... flaws. Suits with little skirts attached. There are also sarrongs you can tie around the waist. Go check them out!! Stylish!! Now, if you just "think" you're fat, well, that's just an issue you're going to have to deal with. You said this is a party with your friends. If these are really FRIENDS, then it doesn't matter what you look like!!! I know, in our ED-infested minds, we tend to believe that our friends (and unknowns) judge us by our bodies. Please don't continue to believe that tripe. True friends like you for who YOU are, not the size of your hut :happy

The water pills........ why are you taking them in the first place? Medical reasons or to "lose weight" (which YOU KNOW they don't!!!!!) Since I've never taken any type of "diet" pills (water pills included) I don't have any suggestions to offer as to how to quit. I would say 'JUST QUIT' but I know that's not a solid answer. I guess it helps to know WHY you're taking them.
REMEMBER, THO, WATER PILLS DON'T MAKE YOU LOSE WEIGHT!!

Stop freaking out over this party. Go and have a smashing good time :supergrin !!!!! Enjoy being with your friends. ENJOY LIFE :bounce !!

And it's nice to see you back in the :bowl !!

:peace

Hi. Nice to see you back in the :bowl again.

Yeah, swimsuits and pool parties do stress us out big time. I'm sure your friends want to see YOU, regardless of what you look like in a suit. I'm sure you look great and it's just body image distortion messing with your mind.

Purple's right: The diuretics don't really make us lose any real weight, and they're dangerous to your body.

I went trying on swimsuits and was horrified in the fluorescent store lighting at the sight of my flabby bod in all the suits I tried on. I told my therapist about it and and just shook her head and told me it was the ED voice because I'm not fat.

Hang in there Niki :sun , I hope we both get better so we can enjoy all the wonderful things summer has to offer and let go of the need to have a perfect body.

Sweetie, Keep this in mind that your friend will love you no matter what you look like whether you are really skinny or of a normal weight. These people became your friends because of who you are not what size you are. Just go to the party and have a good time with your friends.

Taking pills is not the answer to losing weight. There are so many side effects that come with choosing to do this that are not worth it.

Just remember you are a wonderful person an you are so much more then a number on a scale says.

With that being said I know how difficult summer and swim season can be. Take care of yourself.
