I started writing most of this in the smilie post i have just started but thought it merited its own post.

So what animals do you have?

I have three:fishy (Sharkey (did have george but he died:sad - got there names from a kids tv showw - sharkey and george the crimebusters of the sea!) Zippy (as i ahd georg, my housemate brought him me when i was not feeling good when i was in my third year of uni, but had to call him Zippy, it comes from another tv show in this country...Rainbow) and Wonder II (wonder died in twenty four hours of having him, pritty obvious the reason for this one!)

I also, Kinda illegally(not as in criminally illegal, but as in my flat) got morse the Mous e:rat (well thats the closest thing there is to a mouse!)

My parents used to have two :kitkat (one was mine - Macbeth (as my dad refused to allow me cal it hecate!) and one was my brothers - Salem (yes named after Sabrina the teenage witch's cat!) but they were adopted by one of my mums clients when my parents moved :sad

so who do you have living with you????

:kitkat I have a orange boy cat and a maine coon female cat. I think animals just rock and am so glad you ask what kind I have! :touched i went to school, for a semester, for veterinarian technician, but could not do the experimenting or agree w/ the procedures. I have worked in vet clinics for over a decade and just think they are all special.( :bandwagon :turtle :parrot :dog :bug... whatever!)
i had a cockatiel bird and she was so neat. she could talk and loved to take showers and ate right off my plate. If I dropped anything she would say "UH-OH!" I really miss her. I moved this month and couldnt keep her. :cry But it worked out cuz she is w/ a great family.
I like fish but my fat :kitkat will not leave them any peace. She has been eating all and any that i buy. So if ya :love ur :fishy do not get any :kitkat! :muhaha :muhaha Ya know?
Any ho. gotta run! you are sooooo :cool for asking! Byes!

i agree cats are lovely and soft, and always know when you need a cuddle

:hugoncrazeecatz:hugoff

the friend who gave me morse (the mouse) has two other mice, and fish...and wait for it...a complete;y insain :kitkat called honey, who gors absolutly crazy over catnip, so we wrappe her christmas pressies with catnip drops in them, she went mad over them but it was good fun!

:hugonFreya:hugoff

i think a boyfriend most deffinitly counts, can i counmt my ex? as we still see each othjer as friends but he needs cleaning up afterwards too!

:hugonsweetalb:hugoff

My friend had too mice illegally in halls when we were in first year, when they did a room inspection (before we got a chance top hide them) the woman in charge of our halls apparently screamed! but we did manage to sneek them in all the way through the year!

A fifty-gallon fish tank with gobs of fish that are constantly dying which my husband replaces. I used to name them, but the turnover was so frequent that I just gave up.

We also have the world's stupidest :dog. A shih-tzu named Boo (or Boob as my husband calls him). Actually, he's a SHE, we just call her a him. To me, all dogs are "hims"; kinda like what guys call cars, "she" "atta girl" "her blah blah blah". And cars don't even have a gender! "Boo".... short for Little Budha, since shih-tzu's are Chinese. But trust me, he's NOT living up to his name :muhaha

Would love to have a :kitty, but hubby's allergic to them. Hmmm... maybe I should get rid of him. Like Freya, does having a significant other count as another pet? I, too, am always cleaning up after him!! :muhaha :muhaha

I was thinking of getting a couple of parakeets, but there's so much stress already in this household, I think having two birds chirping all day would put me over the top. But they're sooooo cute :winky!!

I work for a vet (hope to be one myself someday), so I love this kind of post, I love hearing about other people's animals. :happy
have a golden retriever/lab mix, a cat, and four guinea pigs.
When I move out this summer I'll have to leave the dog and cat with my family, but I'll be getting a German Shepherd once I'm at my new place, I'm planning on training him for nursing home therapy work.

:love Guinea Pig :rat!

I was so excited to see another piggy lover on here, Jeanine! :winky

Hi all! :lubdub

I have three :gromit ..Named Coffee, Bear and Hope..Coffee is the dad and Bear and Hope are his daughters(we had eleven puppies born here last summer!!!! :hairy )..Coffee is a black lab mix and the girls are lab/english setter mix..they are great family dogs that sleep on our couches!!!! Hope was not breathing when she was born..after five minutes of no life we almost gave up..I told the kids we might have to give up "hope" with this puppy..I massaged her more and she took a gasp! Hence her name Hope :supergrin

I have two horses.. a twenty two year old dapple grey appaloosa who stands at fourteen point two hands tall... she is our daughters horse but I ride her :sly ..her name is Shenna Glory. We also have a pony..she's two, she's half miniature pony and half shetland..she's a sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail..she's little.. if I sit on her my feet can almost touch the ground!! :muhaha She might be bred..we are not sure at this point if she is...we just got her in August. We are also getting a reg. quarter horse in the spring from a friend at the vet... so that'll be exciting.

We have two cats..both rescue cats..Smokey is from the shelter..and climbs walls..MuChu is a rescue we just got..someone brought her to the vet to be put to sleep..the vet called us and asked if we'd try her here..so she came to visit and never left..she's so sweet and is sitting on my lap as I type :cheesy

We have a parakeet that our four year old bought with his birthday money..he named him Chubby..but he changes his name frequently so who knows what he is today :winky

We have big buldgy eyed goldfish downstairs... they are older than dirt.

We have chickens..lots of them... they lay about a dozen eggs a day.

We had a duck named Pilot..I'm :sad to say I found her dead this morning in the barn...she used to come in and the kids would fill the bath tub for her to swim in and all..I thinkshe was stomped on by the pony :sad :sad I had to break the news to the kids this am.

We have pigs...i like to ride them!! :hairy :hairy

AND we have eight bunnies... we had three littler born this summer..and gave most of them to friends... they are named..Kelly, Kailee, Chester, Droopy, Daisy, Big Bell, Slick and Bigfoot (kids named them all)

So that's our farm..we are planning to get a milk goat this spring as we go to the dairy here to get raw natural hormone free milk..and it's a drive, so we're going to milk a goat.. :hairy :hairy

:hugon AubieGirl:hugoff...my nine year old daughter wants to be a vet too..I worked in a vet, office as a teenager and loved it..my hubby says all the stray animals in the world know where to find me b/c I can't turn them away :lubdub

We also feed the deer that come into our yard and enjoy watching hem....
Whew!
:love to you

He ia a cutie, but we surely like to make fun of him a LOT because he acts so dumb sometimes! But I love him!! I think that he is like ummmm six or seven years old.

ANIMALS!!! I love them all! :lubdub

I have three :kitkat and one :gromit . My pooch Moose (yes it is descriptive of his size!) is part Lab part Rott and he doesn't know the meaning of still! He's extremely hyper - pulled my computer off the desk once - that was the last time I let him in the house :ugh :sad He loves romping in the back yard though.

The cats well, Pythagoras is my honey - he sleeps with me every night (and any other chance he gets) Velocity is my acrobat - she climbs anywhere and tries to tightrope walk across the drying rack, and Pizzicato is my shy baby - she hides whenever someone comes to visit - under my bed covers! It's really funny to see a big lump in the middle of a perfectly made bed! :muhaha

I also take part claim to my dad's horses - some of you might have seen them off my horse post with the website. He's only got about FORTY of them! He loves them all and knows each one's name and lineage by heart. It amazes me!

Who needs a hubby when you have animals? :winky

I have two :dog s!! They are both basset hounds, a boy tri-colored named Dupree, and a girl white and tan named Delilah!! Basset hounds are the most stubborn dogs, they are like having toddlers! When I was growing up I had tons and tons of pets; birds, rats, turtles, frogs, a hedgehog, a GIGANTIC bunny, a bearded dragon, just to name a few. I miss having all the animals, but my husband and I live in a little apartment and two basset hounds is about all it can hold. When we get a house I start my "petting Zoo" again :grin . Wow, long thread!!! I have a Yorkshire Terrier named Prince and he is ever soo charming! I never thought a dog could be so undeniably cute and well behaved, he never has a moment that is less than perfectly adorable!!

I have also had cats over the years but only one that I was truly in love with. She was half wild/siamese and had seven toes, we were bonded with each other until her death at seventeen.

Another pet that I was very close with was my Rat Rosie. This little girl would never leave my side. If I put her on the floor she would try to climb my leg and she never wanted to be near anyone but be. She was two years old when she contraced a respiratory illness and I spent two weeks nusrsing her( feeding, bathing and keeping her warm) before she died, took her last breath, in my hands. I miss her to this day, that was nearly **** years ago.

Pets, animals that is, are wonderful and I believe everyone should have one they truly love in thier lives.

Three adorable puppies: One Mini Weenie that belongs to my daughter. Desilu he is white with red spots. As you can see by his name she is a Lucy Lover. I love Lucy.....Two min pins. Rex and Rookie. Rex is black and tan he belongs to me, my true lifesaver. Rookie is red he belongs to my husband. Min pins are puppies that attach themselves to one person so it is wonderful. They are very loving compassionate animals.

One bird: White with blue feathers around it's head so his name is Glory and he belongs to my son.

And a fish poor thing that just lives in any condition.

Pets are animals that love you with so much affection. They are little angels sent from heaven.

I totally love animals. All kinds. I have two :kitkat I actually found one cat in my driveway when she was a week old. (it was a few months after I was discharged from the hospital.) I had to bottle feed her. She was so tiny. When I first saw her laying in a puddle, I thought she was a mouse. This tiny, wet gray thing. Then she meowed. So for eight weeks, I had to bottle raise her. Feeding her every two hours. She actually had to go everywhere with me. She went shopping, to church, to the mall, even to therapy. My therapist called it a family session. It was really nice to have something that needed me sooo much. It was the perfect time to find her. A nice distraction from my tortured mind. Then two years ago, I adopted a kitten who was three weeks old. The mom died. I also had to bottle feed him. I love them both and I would be lost without them. I'd love to have a dog but I don't think my landlord would let me. As a kid I had two dogs, two cats a bird, hampsters, gerbils, rabbits, The Easter Bunny even brought us , one year six chicks and one year three ducklings. I'd love a farm. When I was in college, I got missing my animals soo much that I ended up getting a rabbit. I had him in the dorm (which was not allowed) but never got caught. During fire drills, I had to shove him in my backpack and cover her cage with a sheet with a vase on it to make it look like a table. Her name was UBU and she loved peaches.

Thanks for starting this post.

Now I have a snake (Dante, he's a cornsnake and sooo sweet), two cats (one belongs to me personally - a fluffy white Persian, and the other belongs to the whole family) and one dog (he belongs to the whole family, but for some reason he's particularly attached to me. No idea why.)

Unfortunately, the two cats might soon be reduced to one cat... because the family cat is very sick and kindasorta dying. x.x It's really sad. He's so sweet, just a kitten really. :(

My furry kids! :bounce

I have two :dog and two :kitkat

The oldest is my yellow lab Oliver (his mom was a black lab, and his dad was a chocolate...and he's yellow! Go figure! He's actually a "dudley" which means that he's got the features of a chocolate - he's got a pink nose instead of black and his eyes are a really light brown)

The second oldest is my other dog Harry the wonder papillon! His father's name was "Potter" and on his forehead, he has a white line of fur that kind of looks like a lightening bolt. We just need to get him some doggie glasses and a wand, and he'll be all set. :happy

Then I've got my tortishell twin girl kitties - Gilly (pronouned Jilly) and Sally (ever see Practical Magic? That's who they are named after - and WOW do their names fit the characters they are named after!!). Gilly is the wild child girl, and Sally is the sensible kitty.

I love them all very much! :happy

:hugon Aubiegirl and soma_uk :hugoff - guinea pigs rule!

We have, um, lots. i've lost track of their names - but my mum breeds them! it's so so so sweet! if you think guinea pigs in general are cute, you wait til you have babies on a regular basis - man they're so gorgeous! I think we've got about sev*en, plus one baby at the moment. We lost about thr*ee a few weeks back. :sad:cry:sad

And a crazy crazy :bunny called Esther! We took her on after previous owners lost interest - but consequently she's really viscious and unfriendly :sad. i got bitten the other night just trying to change her food. grrrr! She's no consolement for my wonderful :bunny Asha who was black, huge and fluffy! She died shortly after i left for uni :cry:cry:cry - obviously missed me too much!! ;-)

My brother has an ancient gerbil :rat who really shouldn't still be around but somehow is! He's gonna get some more and breed them....he was trying to breed his hamsters but they both died recently :cry. Hmmmm...just realised how much animal breeding goes on in my house....am now slightly disturbed! They're all really cute anyhow.

I'd really love to have some :fishys up here in my uni house - the landlord will let me, it's just my mum that's the problem! she doesn't think that i can bring them home for holidays and doesn't want them in the house in said periods. drat drat drat!

This is an ace thread!

P.S. my brother's a shepherd and is always filthy! we have to clean up after him too - does he count if bf/other halves do??! bless him!

oh and i've ignored the twohundred and fif*ty plus sheep in his care! which are currently lambing....argh!!!!!!!!

My lovely, dappy little sister wanted to call her 'Dragon' (i didn't even ask!)...but she's been overruled and the rabbit is to be called Puff. but that's apparently ok in my sister's head because her full name can be 'Puff the magic dragon'!!! Sigh!

I'd just like to point my 'little' sister is actually seven*teen!!! ;-)

just wanted to share the excitement with the :bowl
