I'm still very frustrated about finances, but I'm trying to not let it be a trigger to restricting/purging/self harming.
I got a letter in the mail about being in debt for one of my hospital stays and I called the collections agency to tell them that I am a full time college student and that I work about six to seven hours a week. She then in turn stated very rudely "well, I suggest you borrow money from a friend of family member!" and then hung up. I in turn burst into tears and journaled very angrily.
:yay for no behaviors :winky

And the credit card company I tried applying to are cheap skates and I payed their $forty-five prosessing fee and now they want MORE money to be depositied for how much my credit limit is. It's like, hello, if I had the money, I wouldn't be asking you for a credit card.

So my question is;
Does anyone know of any credit cards that do not need a security deposit and are welcoming to college students?

I'm trying to react to today in healthy ways, like solving the problem, rather then restricting when I know already that I'm trying to gain weight.

Thanks! I love you guys :gimmehug

Hun, did you ask the collection agancy for the hosbital what kind of payment arrangements you could make?
If this collector hung up on you, she's not doing her job right! Her job is to collect money, never mind how littl'..

If you open a line of credit (ie, credit card) you're then paying one debt with the other, and getting dinged on both ends for intrest.
Credit cards are revolving acounts. At the end of each % period, what you owe on the card, is what they will charge you for % wise.
As for a fixed intrest account (in which the hosbital bill probably is) only accumulates the intrest for the amount you owe threw the intire loan (ie.. you actually able to at one point in time, pay more on the loan, then just intrest.. with a credit card, your never allowed that right~other then a stated ''fixed'' card).

What I would suggest is calling back the agancy that has the hosbital bill, and talking to a different collector. Explain to them your situation, and suggest an option of payment that would suit you.

After all, what are they going to do? You're income (with only working a few hours a week) is to littl' to garnish... and the loan isn't on any kind of collateral (ie... it's not like a car loan, where there's something the bank can take back).

Good luck with it all, just becareful with the credit cards.
