Heya fishies,
I ahve just returned from travelling in the UK, good to be home for a few months and a plan has coem together to ensure that my travelling continues...hurrah....next on my list is Camp America..which I am busy applying for at the moment, and a little bit of time in NY with my boy aftyerwards ( allowed some travel time) then a ticket back to the UK, perhaps and save up for a round the world ticket..which means Japan, Australia, New York and back to the Uk...Then I have a very good friend who worked and lived with me in a bar, who owns a cabana on a beautiful beach in Mexico, who wants me to go there to volunteer at her english school that she is opening...
Where would you go if you could choose numerous destinations to travel..and why?Have you done loads of travelling, where have you been? Anywhere very exotic?
Love

I'm an Army brat, so we've done some pretty extensive traveling, we lived in Germany for three years and got to tour a lot of Europe while we were over there (we lived just thirty minutes from the Czech Republic and a few hours from France). My uncle is also in the Army, and was stationed at Pearl City, Hawaii for a while, I got to visit him there, too bad my dad's a tanker so he could never get stationed there. :winky
I went to Italy this summer and absolutely fell in love with it. I liked Florence more than Rome, actually, but enjoyed all of it. The island of Capri was the most gorgeous place I have ever been in my entire life.
One place I'd love to visit is Australia. I really want to see the Great Barrier Reef. I'm going to try to do a semester of study abroad over there, if I can get it worked out (I'm a zoology major, I can go "down under" to play Crocodile Hunter for a while :grin)
This is a really great topic, thanks for posting it! I'm really interested to hear other people's travel stories.

Oooh where to start!
I met SOOO many people on summer camp from all over the world....I stayed in Canada (Toronto) with friends after camp (:usa) and that was fab! I also have friends from South Africa (Jo'Berg) and Australia that I met on camp and it would be fab to do a whirlwind tour and catch up with everyone!
I also backpacked the east coast of America.
I am really interested in Judaism and so would :love to go to Israel - I want to go work on a kibbutz for a bit but a bit scared at the mo due to the political situation...
The BIG one for me has to be Australia...I was absolutely OBSESSED with Australia from the age of about thirteen onwards - I had posters and wall maps of it on my wall. I totally :love the soap "Neighbours" and I was sooooo :mad when my brother went there first for his gap year.....boo hoo
I still think I will get there - I want to do the whole gap year thing (or even six months) and go work in Aus and travel around it....but I'm kind of stuck in a rut at the mo....you get into a routine and it's hard to get out of it, ya know...I'm gonna try and keep the faith tho, cos it's not only uni students that backpack these days (I def shoulda done a gap year THIS year seeing as I just finished uni - but oh, I had no money :ugh). Anyhow, people take mid-life breaks these days, lol, I know people in their thirties that have taken a six month sabbatical form work and gone, so I def will...it's just a matter of when, and getting my ass into gear!
I like places with a bit of culture and history - Japan intrigues me, I had a bit of a love-affair with Sweden a few years back (never been there tho) and South-East Asia is sounding better by the day.
I also have a fascination with latin-American cultures and countries....I speak Spanish, so would be pretty cool to go there too.
I'm defo interested in everywhere, lol, I'm now learning Arabic (my tenth language - tho many of them I have just taken beginners courses in) and I am now deciding what to do next, lol.
Dammit - I can't decide - ok I need a round the world tickets with billions of stops methinks....jeez I had better win the lottery :ugh
Much love :love

Ummm???
Camp should be paying YOU!
OK granted they don't pay much - but they do pay for your flights etc and so after you pay out what you need to and get your pocket money back, you should pretty much break even....
Check out Camp America and Bunac - maybe they are cheaper than CCUSA?
Much love :love
