Hello everyone. So, it is almost time for the Republican Convention to start. And when it starts thousands upon thousands of people will desend upon NYC to protest.

Luckily, I will be on vacation at the beach that entire week, yeah!!!! (I work in Manhattan a few blocks from where the convention is - Plus, the Governor of New York, NYC offices are in my building).

Ok, so protesters, I admire them. I have gone to a few protests and i feel that they are truly a great thing for people to get involved in. What sort of saddens me tho, is that there is a lot of talk about "the cost of overtime for police to making sure that the protestors don't get out of hand" Estimates say that "a thousand people a day are likely to be arrested" That is asstounding to me. And costly.

I also, often feel like people want to "Cause a problem". I mean, if a policeman says "do not cross a line" and someone "crosses the line", and the "cop" pushes them back, that protestor perhaps would claim "harrassment".

I want the protestors to come, and use their voice, but I do not want them to come with the intent of "Starting a Riot".

I am not the only one concerned about this. A lot of Top Democrats are really worried that the "Protestors" will get out of hand, and hence a negative picture of "Kerry and Democrates" could happen.

I am a firm beleiver in free speech, but I am not a firm beleiver in manipulation. In "attempting to get a cop to push you when they say stop"

Anyway, I really hope everything goes ok, I don''t want to see lawsuits years from now over how the cops did and/or didn't do something.
